Where are you located?

R.G. Barry Corporation is based in the Columbus, Ohio suburb of Pickerington. We have sales or     administrative offices in New York, Hong Kong and Bentonville, Arkansas; and we operate a       distribution center in San Angelo, Texas.

 When was R.G. Barry Corporation founded?

The Company was founded in Columbus in 1947 as a maker of detachable shoulder pads for women’s clothing. The Company’s name was derived from the first names of its co-founders’ children: Richard, Gordon and Barry (R.G. Barry).

R.G. Barry Corporation is an Ohio corporation.

How did the Company enter the accessories footwear business?

After reading about the release of foam rubber to industry following World War II, Company co- founder Florence Zacks Melton felt the new material might make the shoulder pads her young company produced more durable; but when she obtained a foam rubber sample, she was struck  by the idea of walking on it. Soon after, she created Angel Treads®, the world’s first foam-soled, soft washable slipper. After selling more than one billions pairs of foam-cushioned footwear, foam rubber continues to add comfort to many of the millions of pairs of accessory footwear we develop and sell each year.

 Is the Company publicly traded?

Yes. The Company has been publicly traded since 1962. Today, our common shares are                principally traded on The NASDAQ Global Stock Market under the trading symbol DFZ.

Does the Company pay dividends?

Yes. On May 1, 2009, the Board of Directors declared a special cash dividend of $0.25 per share payable on June 15, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business on June 1, 2009. The Board also unanimously adopted a cash dividend policy, under which a quarterly dividend of $0.05 per share (totaling $0.20 per year) will be paid on the Company’s common shares beginning in the fourth quarter of calendar year 2009. Until these actions were taken, the Company had not paid cash dividends since 1981.

The Company’s fiscal year ends on the Saturday closest to June 30.

How many people are employed by R.G. Barry Corporation?

The Company’s total worldwide employment is approximately 160.

Do you operate manufacturing plants?

No. We exited all manufacturing in 2004. Today, we design and develop our own products, which we then source through a large network of Asian-based contract manufacturers.

What are your principal products?

While our family of proprietary, licensed and private label brand names is constantly evolving,  our primary brands include: Dearfoams®, the world’s best-know slipper brand; Terrasoles® hybrid comfort footwear; and under license Superga® canvas active/fashion footwear; and Levi’s® and Nautica® slippers and sandals.

Where are your products sold?

The Company serves a broad spectrum of U.S. retailers, from Saks Fifth Avenue to Wal-Mart, with its family of proprietary and licensed accessories footwear brands.

Are your products sold on the Internet?

Are your products sold outside the U.S.?

Yes. Our products are sold in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and  Central America, South America and South Africa.

Who are your largest customers?

Wal-Mart and J.C. Penney are our largest customers.

What is your market share?

Based upon our own research and various industry sources, we estimate our share of the U.S. slipper market at approximately 35%.
